Information on data protection for consultations at the Equal Opportunities Office (Hochschulbüro für ChancenVielfalt)

The Equal Opportunities Office (Hochschulbüro für ChancenVielfalt) at Leibniz University Hannover offers counselling for employees and students on the following topics:
- Equality between women and men, gender diversity
- career counselling
- Reconciling work, study and family life
- Childcare
- Pregnancy and maternity protection
- Diversity and compensation for disadvantages
- Inclusive study and accessibility
- Complaints about sexual harassment and discrimination
The Equal Opportunities Office (Hochschulbüro für ChancenVielfalt) collects personal data during these consultations for the purpose of finding solutions. This includes, for example, names, names of children, dates of birth, contract data, addresses and telephone numbers. Counselling enquiries and complaints that are submitted to us anonymously are recorded for the processing time of the enquiry and for the evaluation only in terms of content with the topic, but without any personal data.
The Equal Opportunities Office (Hochschulbüro für ChancenVielfalt) observes the principle of purpose-bound use of data and assures that the data collected will only be used to carry out the counselling and to find a solution. Data will only be passed on to third parties in consultation with you.
Your personal data will be deleted twelve months after the last contact.
The legal basis is the duty to inform according to § 13 of the Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
You have the right to information about the data concerned (Art. 15 GDPR).
You have the right to have the data deleted (Art. 20 GDPR).
